USGI Birch M1 Carbine Stock A+ grade #202

USGI Birch M1 Carbine Stock A+ grade #202

This Birch USGI m1 carbine stock has a really nice grain. it even has some mild tiger striping in it. A+ grade #202

These M1 Carbine stocks are original WWII USGI stocks which have been arsenal refinished back in the 50's and 60's (noted by the circle P stamp which was used in that era).  I then take each stock and steam out whatever imperfections i can and give them several fresh coats of boiled linseed oil and i clean and recondition the metal.  The result is a MUCH more durable finish than what these were given originally. Special care is taken to make sure these maintain a period correct look and finish. I then assign these a grade which i feel reflects their overall condition. PLEASE NOTE: If you are looking for stocks with makers marks or from specific makes these stocks are probably not for you. These stocks have been refinished by the military in the past and have most makers marks sanded off aside from the new circle P stamp. Please see my grading criteria section to understand my grading system.

GRADING CRITERIA IS AS FOLLOWS (Grading for m1 carbine stocks differs from that of m14/m1a stocks due to its increased use and older age, many of these stocks have been through multiple wars.

B GRADE-  Functionally solid stock with a new finish but may show many dents and dings and obvious crack repairs. Great character for a range rifle.

A Grade-  Overall a ver nice looking stock, finish is nice and new but you can see some light dents dings that just could not be removed and  Maybe a obvious minor crack repair.

A+ Grade- Great looking stock with a nice new durable finish, better than average grain, may show some dark spots where dents were steamed out but nothing deep. and if there ever was an arsenal repair its not obviously visible. You would be proud to put this on display.

A++ Grade- About as good as it gets in the M1 carbine catagory, even fewer dark spots where dents were steamed out, the grain is well above average. For a true show rifle, not something you would want to take to the range.
